Our Adult Christian Education ministry has two components: Sunday classes before worship, and seasonal series on different topics.
- SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY/PRAYER begins at 9:15am in the church library (BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2018). These classes have a devotional element to them, so come ready to share questions, stories, and “aha!” moments as we read through text together. We close our time together in prayer for one another before entering service at 10:30am.
- SPECIAL SERIES are usually focused around a particular series or theme that we are discerning as a community. For example: a retired Divinity School professor may lead a four-week class on Ezekiel; our Social Justice committee led a six-week class on “Accompaniment” (what does it mean to accompany others in justice work?); we once read together Barbara Brown Taylor’s An Altar in the World. The possibilities are endless!These classes are NOT EVERY SUNDAY, but as the community sees fit to engage a particular topic. Follow the church calendar for more information on upcoming classes.
In all of our formats, we emphasize God’s still-speaking nature in sacred text, tradition, history, and personal experience.
