Alex Escobar Prada, a visiting activist, educator and member of the Guatemalan environmental justice organization Youth Organized in Defense of Life (JODVID), will give a presentation about work currently being done in Guatemala. Alex conducts trainings to build youth leadership to protect the environment, raise awareness of the dangers of deforestation and mining, and educate their community about the importance of protecting water in their area, where small scale farming is the main source of income and a way of life.
