This year we are reflecting and acting a different way for Lent, to follow our theme this year of “not more, but different.” Instead of a wilderness journey, what does it mean to be an oasis in the wilderness? How can we replenish and refresh ourselves so we can provide an oasis to those impacted by all that is happening around us?Besides financially fasting from companies that have enabled ICE, we are supporting communities that have been devastated by arrests, deportations, intimidation and fear by patronizing immigrant-owned businesses. Each week during Lent we will visit a different neighborhood and eat in an immigrant-owned or operated restaurant.
