Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project (ChiMOP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to affecting positive social change in
under-served communities with limited access to the arts by providing a safe and fun environment for children to make music and
pursue excellence together with peers and positive adult role models. ChiMOP offers community youth orchestra programming and
instrumental music instruction in partnership with schools, churches, and community centers. In partnership with The Chicago Academy of Music (CAM), ChiMOP will offer a curriculum of group lesson instruction, youth orchestra programming, and early childhood music activities at University Church in Hyde Park (5655 S. University Ave., Chicago). The program will kick off on December 17, 2014 with a concert featuring concert pianist George LePauw at the church and a New Year’s Eve Top Hat Bash on December 31st, also at the church.
Children ages 3-11 are eligible to register for this program.
