“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it”
-Hebrews 13:2
Entertaining angels is what University Church is all about! Scriptures like the one in Hebrews, along with the narrative of the Good Samaritan, remind us that as believers we are entrusted to provide care for the strangers in our midst. Therefore we take hospitality seriously – not merely as a way of “prettying” up our space for guests, but because in welcoming the stranger we are doing ministry.
The Hospitality Committee at University Church provides the following:
- Ushers
- Greeters
- Helping coordinate Social Hour with those who have volunteered
- Special Gatherings (memorials, weddings, etc.)
If you feel you have a gift for “entertaining angels”, please consider joining the Hospitality Committee!
