The NEW Blue Gargoyle will host its first open mic Friday, March 31, 2017 in the second floor theater at University Church. The Blue Gargoyle serves as a hub for community services to provide positive opportunities for youth and families on the South Side of Chicago, with a focus on arts, education, and workforce development.
Youth under the age of 21 are invited to perform between 7-9:00 pm. Performers 21 and over are invited to the mic from 9-10:00 pm.
The event is free. Coffee, cold beverages, and light snacks will be available for purchase from Sanctuary Cafe throughout the evening.
Sanctuary Cafe inside University Church will have a “soft” open Friday, March 31, 2017, from 8:00 am through the Blue Gargoyle Open Mic event. Sanctuary Cafe will sell fair trade coffee and homemade sweet and savory treats all day. The Cafe will have its grand opening Monday, April 3 at 8:00 am. Normal cafe hours will be M-F 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. The cafe will also be open for special events.
