The Social Justice Committee and Black Lives Matter UChurch are sponsoring a community forum with #PoliceFreeSchools. The teach-in includes a panel discussion with Ling Young, #PoliceFreeSchools organizer and 2020 HP Academy graduate, a Q&A session, and discussion. The event will be moderated by Maryse Richards, UChurch member and Loyola University psychology professor.

#PoliceFreeSchools is a coalition that is working to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline by removing CPD officers from Chicago Public Schools. The Chicago Board of Education recently voted not to cancel the existing contract with CPD, but must vote again in August to decide whether to renew the same contract for next year.
