Tonight we’ll discuss Mudbound, by Hillary Jordan.  The book is the World War II era story of two families caught up in the blind hatred of a small Southern town: the McAllan family struggling to survive on a remote ramshackle farm, and the Jacksons, their Black sharecroppers.  Netflix recently made a movie of the book.
